To maintain the pristine conditions necessary for our film processing lab, we've opted not to have a physical storefront. This decision ensures a near dust-free environment and allows our team to focus entirely on delivering exceptional results.

However, accessibility remains a priority for us. During work hours from 8 am to 5 pm, you can conveniently access our secured dropbox located outside our front door. Rest assured, our premises are under 24-hour CCTV surveillance, guaranteeing the safety of your precious films.

For added convenience, we also provide a 24-hour after-hours dropbox, the mailbox at the front door of the building. The mailbox is securely built into the wall, minimizing the risk of theft. Your peace of mind is our top priority.

Finding us at REBQQT is a breeze! Nestled at Suite 201 / 7 Smith Street, Fitzroy, VIC 3106, we're conveniently situated for easy access.

If you're coming from Melbourne CBD, here are your options:

Our order forms for Super 8 and 135 & 120 films are designed to be detailed yet user-friendly. However, if you ever need clarification or have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us directly or explore our website for more information. We're here to ensure your ordering process is as smooth and straightforward as possible.

At REBQQT, we've made it easy for you to get your films to us, offering two convenient options: drop-off or mail-in.

For drop-offs during our working hours from 8 am to 5 pm, simply access the building and make your way up the stairs, turning left to find our dropbox conveniently located next to the front door. Even after hours, you can still drop off your films at our mailbox by the entrance of the building. We've got you covered with order form QR codes, pens, and bags for added convenience. And if you'd rather skip the stairs, feel free to use the mailbox instead – we totally understand.

Before you drop off your films, help us out by submitting your order. Simply scan the QR code or click the links on our website. Don't forget to use the pen provided to jot down your name or phone number as a reference.

For mail-in orders, just send them to our address and please include a note with your name or phone number as a reference. It's that easy!

If your tracking info says your films have arrived but you haven't heard from us within a reasonable time (normally about a week, but definitely within two weeks), don't hesitate to reach out. We want to make sure everything's smooth sailing for you.

Processing Stage

Here's the lowdown on the formats we develop:

For motion picture films, we've got you covered with Super 8.
For photographic films, we support 35mm/135 and 120/medium formats.

However, please note that we do not develop formats like APS, 110, 126, or large formats such as 4x5 or 8x10.

Got some old discontinued films lying around? No problem! Get in touch to see how we can help.

And hey, disposable cameras are always welcome here too!

Absolutely! ECN-2 processing is our specialty, and we take pride in it. Whether you're shooting in Super 8 or using 135 & 120 formats with ECN-2 films, we've got you covered. Your creative vision is in good hands with us!

We offer push processing for black and white film. Should you wish to have your film pushed, simply indicate your preference on the order form.

Please ensure you clearly label your film accordingly for processing instructions. While we're adept at pushing and pulling black and white films, please note that C-41 and E-6 films are not eligible for this service.

Sorry, we do not offer develop and print services.

Scanning Stage

For Super 8 films, you have the flexibility to choose your preferred resolution, ranging from HD, 2.5K, 4K, all the way up to 6.5K.

You have full control over your scan specifications, including resolution and file formats. You can choose from basic, standard, and high-resolution scans and select JPG, BMP, and TIFF files according to your needs.

For instance if you opt for a high-resolution scan and exporting files in JPG format. These JPGs are substantial, typically around 20MB for a standard 135 frame. However, if you prefer more manageable file sizes, especially for phone and social media use, and to save storage in the long run, we can scan in standard resolution. This reduces files to around 5MB. Rest assured, this doesn't compromise the quality of your images; you'll still receive vibrant colors and excellent image quality.

If you have specific preferences, we also offer scans in BMP & TIFF formats upon request. BMP files offer superior quality but are larger in size, while TIFFs are ideal for printing and have even larger file sizes. The choice is yours, and it's free of charge!

For the ultimate quality experience, consider our Hasselblad/Imcon Flextight scanner. Check out Flextight for more details.

Yes, we offer JPG, BMP and TIFF for 135 & 120 scans.

Absolutely! We're happy to assist with scan-only orders. Simply submit your order using one of our forms, depending on the type of films you have.

For 135 & 120 films, we recommend not cutting and sleeving them before scanning. Instead, place them in a sealed bag immediately after drying to prevent dust accumulation. While we do clean films during the scanning process to minimize dust, please note that we're unable to clean the negatives' surfaces. As a result, we cannot guarantee that your scans will be entirely spotless, especially if they weren't processed in our lab.

When it comes to Super 8 motion pictures, your films will undergo scanning or telecine using Lasergraphic Scansation. You'll have the freedom to choose your desired resolution, ranging from HD all the way up to 6.5K.

For 135 & 120 films, we offer a range of scanning options, including Fujifilm Frontier, Noritsu, and Flextight scanners. Please note that our Frontier scanners are exclusively available for 135 formats due to workflow efficiency reasons. In the order form, simply select your desired scanner for your films. We'll ensure your preferences are met during the scanning process.

We deliver your files via Dropbox. Once your scan is ready, we'll send you a Dropbox link for downloading your scans. Please note that uploading images to Dropbox may take some time, so if you receive a link and there are no files yet, don't worry. Just give it some time to finish uploading. However, if you've waited for a while and there are still no files in the folder, please reach out to us, and we'll sort it out for you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!

Your files will be stored on Dropbox for a period of 30 days only. After this time, the data will be moved offline to our storage drives for archiving, where it will be kept for up to 1 year. We strongly advise downloading your scans as soon as you receive the link to avoid any inconvenience. Please note that any data retrieval after the initial 30-day period will incur a $20 fee. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Payment

After your films have made their way to our lab and we've verified them against your order form, an invoice for the job will swiftly land in your inbox. You can settle the payment hassle-free, either via card or through direct deposit/EFT, choosing the method that works best for you. Once we've received your payment, we'll jump right into action, commencing work on your order without delay.

In the event that you haven't received your Dropbox download link for over two weeks, it's possible that our emails may have been misplaced in your spam or promotions folders. If you've thoroughly checked and still couldn't locate it, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We'll promptly investigate the issue and resend you the link without delay. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we're here to ensure you get access to your files as quickly as possible.

If, unfortunately, your film roll comes out blank after development, we understand the disappointment. In such cases, we only charge a developing fee to cover costs. If you've paid upfront for the entire order, you'll receive a refund for the remaining balance. For details on the developing-only pricing, please refer to our price list for your reference. We're committed to ensuring fairness and transparency in every aspect of our service.

Negative Handling

After your film has been developed and scanned, you have the option to choose whether it is cut & sleeved or left uncut.

For cut negatives:

  • 35mm/135 films will be cut per 6 frames.
  • 120/medium format films will be cut per 2 or 3 frames, depending on the format (6x6 per 3 frames, 6x7 per 2 frames, 6x8 per 3 frames, 6x9 per 2 frames, 6x12, 6x17, and 6x24 per 1 frame).
  • Standard sleeves are provided for free, while PrintFile archive sleeves are available for $1 each.

For uncut negatives:

  • Negatives will be sleeved into a PVC bag.

Super 8 films will be spooled onto a reel or core and boxed.

Once your order is completed, it's ready for collection. You have three options in the order form:

  • Collection in-person: A collection box is available next to the Dropbox at our front door, accessible during business hours. If you choose this option, please request collection via email beforehand. Upon confirmation, you'll receive a password for the box. Please do not show up for collection without advance email notice, as you won't be able to open the box without the password.
  • Send back via Post: There will be a $10 postage fee added to your order, and you'll need to confirm your address in the order form.
  • Archive by us: If you trust us to archive your negatives, they must be cut and sleeved. Please note that if you require your negatives in the future, a retrieval fee of $20 will be incurred.

To ensure a smooth collection process, we kindly ask that you email us your collection request at least one business day in advance. Upon receiving your request, we'll provide you with a passcode to access the collection box at our front door. This passcode signifies that your negatives are ready for collection. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
